The Distant Earth

The earth is approximately 4.54 billion years old. It is the 3rd planet from the sun and the 5th largest among other planets in the solar system. Earth’s diameter at the equator is around 12,756 km. Its circumference also at the equator is 40.075 km. While it seems flat by looking at the horizon, but when a ship appears, it looks as if it just came up because the earth is round. With two fields, magnetism and gravity, the earth is able to hold down bodies of water, the atmosphere and everything else in place. The iron composition of the core of the earth created its magnetic field. It helps prevent the earth from being harmed by high energy particles.

Because of the many disasters and calamities that have harmed the earth and its atmosphere, experts have not stopped looking for another habitable place out in space. Not only did astronomers tried to search within the earth’s solar system, they also explored to other constellations. Through the years these outer space experts were able to find planets with similar atmospheric compositions as earth but they were light years away. Some need to travel for 20 years and others 30 years to such planets.

Of these discoveries, many would be wondering if there are beings or inhabitants in those distant planets. Astronomers found planets twice the size of the earth. Another challenge to face in this non – stop search is how the astronauts will travel to the newly found planet if it will take that long and which spaceship to take.
