A fault is formed when there is a tremendous stress on a rock that can produce a fracture. The biggest faultline is in San Andreas. It is more than 800 miles northwestward starting from California to the Pacific Ocean. The end times have horrible signs but the scariest is an 8 to 9 magnitude earthquake. There is a long list of places where great earthquakes were experienced. The earthquake in Chile back in 1960 was 9.5 magnitude while Alaska experienced a 9.2 magnitude. However, the deadliest earthquake was in December 16, 1811 and 1812 which happened in New Madrid in the United States. The earthquake began with 7.5 – 7.9 magnitude succeeded by 7.4 aftershocks on the day itself. This earthquake caused the water in the river to move backward.
In the scriptures, a heaven quake or sky quake is stated that its strong intensity could move a mountain. People of this generation must not take the warnings of the bible for granted. The “big one” or the earthquake with great magnitude can happen anytime soon. No one can escape this catastrophic event which can collapse many buildings that could kill hundreds of people. An earthquake drill though is an option to prepare. But the most important thing to do is to seek for the guidance of the Almighty, for on that day, the shaking of the ground will be so tremendous that to make a single step will be a huge challenge and the remaining option is to crawl, just like in the 1811 earthquake.
